Chili Blizzard Recipe

If you live on the east coast in February of 2010 you most likely have seen the record snow fall amounts. During this season many people are stuck in the house playing board games, video games, watching movies, or shoveling. If you love to cook or bake most likely you are whipping up some yummy chillie or baking some sweet pies and cookies.

I have been stuck inside my house for three days and couting and during that time I cooked some fab dishes.

Chili Recipe

Ingredients

             1-1/4 lbs of ground turkey

1 (15 oz) can pinto beans – drained and rinsed
1 (15 oz) can light red kidney beans – drained and rinsed

2 (28 oz) cans crushed tomatoes
1 (28 oz) can diced tomatoes

2 cups celery, diced
1 small red bell pepper, diced
1 small yellow bell pepper, diced
1 medium red onion, diced

2 T ground cumin
3 T garlic powder
4 T chili powder

Directions

Heat a large pan over medium high heat, spraying with cooking spray. Cook ground turkey until light brown.
Meanwhile, combine veggies, tomatoes, beans and spices in a  slow cooker.
For Slow Cooker: Simmer for 6-7 hours on high.
